About Suwan Edomura
The village of Suwan Edomura, originally known for its Kishu lacquerware, can be found in Kainan's old townscape.
A stage full of human warmth in a hand-built theater
Suwan Edomura has a ground area of 4950 m² and the main building has a floor space of 1386 m².
Once you step in, you will find the old “Geidojo” theater while walking through the old townscape that will take you back in time to the Edo period.
The owner who knows the stage’s every nook and cranny has replicated various sceneries from the Edo period by hand, from a red-light district to traditional taverns.
You can either take a stroll through the streets of Suwan Edomura or make yourself at home and relax until the show begins.
This is your chance to experience that world that you only know from TV!
